以前から何度もTechCrunchが取り上げているAll Peersがいよいよβに!?
知らない人のために書いておくとFireFoxでP2Pを実現するExtensionだ。
UK/Prague-based AllPeers is a Firefox extension that will allow for group P2P file sharing using the browser. A persistent buddy list in a sidebar is created. Files can be shared with those buddies by dragging a file, folder or URL into their name. It’s just as easy to share the file with multiple people. The core technology is based on bittorent.

要するに、bittorentの技術を使って特定の相手とファイルを交換できるというもの。File Sharing Softのように不特定多数を相手にするわけではないので直県法慈雨も問題ない。IMのファイル送/受信が視覚化されたような感じかな?記事にScreen Shotが載っているから見ればイメージは掴めるだろう。
ところで、

なんて書いてあるものだから短時間のうちにコメントが殺到、自分も慌てて駆けつけたところ丁度49番目までコメントがついていて、速攻でE-Mailを書き込んだもののふたを開けてみれば56番目….orz くそう、もう少しだけ早く記事を読んでいれば…。こういうことがあるから日本版よりも本家をチェックしておかなければ。
コメントの中にはMichael Arringtonのものや、All Peersの共同設立者であるMatthew Gertnerのものも含まれているものの、微妙な位置だ….。
いずれにせよ、近い将来、いよいよこいつを使える日が来る!
