８月３１日に第一弾を出した『週刊新潮』だが、明日発売号で第２弾が出るようだ。しかも、前回は２頁のスペースだったが、もっと大きいようだ。第一弾が出た当日、楽天並びに三木谷浩史社長は即座に自社HP上に「見解」を出し謝罪を要求、法的対処も辞さないとした。だが、対外的にそういうポーズをしたに過ぎず、新潮社に対しては三木谷社長個人が「内容証明」を出したぐらいで、ともかく今日に至るまで法的対応は一切していないというのが、本紙が掴んでいる情報だ。なぜ、事実無根というならHPに載せた内容に沿った行動をしないのか。不可解と言わざるを得ない。その結果、第２弾の記事を招いたのだとすれば、同社は株主に２重に迷惑をかけていると言われても仕方ないのではないか。

以前に書いたエントリで私も引用させていただいたLovecallさんのmixiに関する記事を、そっくりそのまま転載したバカがいたそうだ。
現時点において、コメント欄を閉じてはいるものの、エントリ自体を削除せず残しているところをみると、最初から釣りだったのではないかという気もする。元が発表時に話題を呼んだエントリであったことから、直ぐに発覚することを最初から分かっていながら、面白半分でやったのではないかと思うのだが、考えすぎだろうか。
ここで「はてなブックマーク」におけるコミュニティがSBMとしての「情報共有」の枠を超えて、違う次元での作用を果たし良い方向で機能した事例だと思います。

ブックマーク数を比較して何が言いたいのかよく分からないんだが、仮にこれが逆であった場合はどうだと言うんだろうか。
オリジナルがあまり人に知られていなかった場合には、何かの拍子でそれをパクった記事の方が注目を集めたとしても、パクリであることがなかなか露呈しないと言った事態が発生することもあり得るのではないか。注目度の低い記事など、そもそも誰もパクらないから大丈夫、と言った理屈も考えられるが、オリジナリティには乏しいが脚色するのだけは上手い奴が、たまたま素材を生かしきれていなかった記事を発見し、それをうまくアレンジして自分のものとして発表しちゃう、なんてこともこれまで絶対に起こっていなかったとは言い切れない気がするのだが。
つまりパクりを隠蔽するなら、オリジナルはあまり有名になっていないもの(ホッテントリに乗らなかったようなもの?)が狙い目であって、だからこそ今回の場合はひょっとして釣りなのかなーと思った次第。
これからも似たような事件は起こりそうだね。

Wiiのfirmwareはインターネット経由でアップグレード可能となるそうだ。
It has been reported that the Wii’s firmware will be updatable through the Internet, which will allow for patches to be added amongst other features.

After News Corp. threatened to sue his publisher if they published his exposé on MySpace and its poster boy Tom Anderson (pictured), journalism student Trent Lapinski sold his story to Valleywag. Why did MySpace try to block a story that really tells us what we already knew? Who knows, but it’s fun to publish it anyway and see if they sue.
